How it started

It has been 5 years of learning and discovery. It all started as "wow! 3d modeling isn't that hard!" And I made a little girl, and I made her little clothes, and then I made a little house. I was happy with my brand new doll. And suddenly the doll could move! And look at you! And smile, and walk around the house, and play games. It was so silly and fun, so I kept going. I gave her a name, a story, a personality, and I was so proud of her that I wanted lots of people to meet her. So yeah, that's why there's a lot going on within the game besides the adult stuff, but I'm glad my game has been so well received nonetheless.

Thank you everyone again for playing with Lily! You've made me so proud and happy, and you could say you've made her really happy too ^^

I learned a lot of stuff as a developer. The biggest lessons are not technical knowledge, but some important advice:

  • Do some planning. The reason my project took so long is because I didn't have a plan or a time limit, I just randomly kept going, back and forth, rewriting entire mechanics, until I was happy. It was fun, but not the way to work on a serious project.
  • That said, when you're learning, try lots of different things. Research and use existing tools and libraries. I missed on a lot of things that could have made my life easier.
  • Watch lots of tutorials, but also those videos with "advice" and "things I learned" because all of those things are true, even it they seemed boring and I just wanted to jump straight into developing when I started.

I'm not planning to work on any more games or updates to this one, but I'll still be around to read your comments and do any bug fixing required for this last version. And I'll still make art for my gallery on my free time, that's also fun and not as time-consuming.

Whether you're a new player or just want to play some more...

Have fun! Lily is always happy to play with you.
